How to get your return

Your refund – your way

  1. Insert your containers
  2. When finished, press ‘voucher’ on the screen
  3. Take your voucher to our in-centre cashier desk and our staff will give you cash
  1. Download the app, select PayPal as your payout method and link to your PayPal account. 
  2. Scan your app barcode at the machine before you start your session. 
  3. Insert your containers and select Payout when you’re done. You should receive your refund within 1 business day.

  3. 100% of your refund will go to our local NT charity partner.

How long does a digital refund take?

TOMRA refunds, whether through bank transfer, PayPal, or cash, typically take one business day to process. This means if you recycle on Monday, you should expect the refund in your account by Tuesday. 

What happens to containers once they are returned?

Containers deposited at a container refund point will be sorted by material type and prepared for collection and transportation to a processing centre, where the materials are tightly compacted and prepared for recycling. Containers are then sold via an online auction platform into domestic and export markets to an approved recycler where the material is recycled into new materials or back into beverage containers. 

How can I get an E-Voucher?

To claim your refund through E-voucher, download the myTOMRA app here. When you’re at the kiosk, scan your barcode before you return your containers to get your refund in E-vouchers. E-vouchers are only available through Reverse Vending Machines. 

How can I get a print voucher?

Simply return your containers at a Reverse Vending Machine and select the “Voucher” option at the end of your session.
